Working to ensure children stay safe
Clare Haven Services provides childcare facilities for children staying at the refuge. Children generally enjoy their time at the refuge. There are always other children around to play with and they feel safe. The childcare team will regularly open the well-equipped playroom and provide structured play sessions each morning and afternoon. The refuge has a large garden with a playground area for children. The childcare team are committed to working with children, helping them to come to terms with their experiences of abuse.
Clare Haven Services provides a limited number of counselling sessions through the medium of art and play for children affected by domestic violence. Early intervention with children who are vulnerable or at risk from domestic abuse may prevent serious harm from happening to them at a later stage.
Through counselling we can support these children to move forward safely.
