Each of these “identities” in their own right add a level of complication to a woman and/or child’s experience of domestic abuse, the types of abuse perpetrated against them, the mitigation the women can attempt to put in place and the mechanisms of safety or support open to them. Domestic Abuse Perpetrators Don’t Discriminate so Clare Haven as a service provider attempts to understand different experiences of domestic abuse and to identify remedies through the lens of the different grounds as laid out above and named in Equality Legislation. We hear about the experiences, realities, barriers, and supports from the different perspectives of living in Clare, inform ourselves and respond.
